Since Sebastian moved to Baltimore I have been spending more of my weekends visiting this familiar but foreign city. This weekend we managed to get an invite to the private party celebrating the opening of honeygrow's new location in Charles Village. What is honeygrow you ask? It's a counter-served, locally sourced restaurant that offers customizable stir-frys, salads and honeybar.
First, let me just say the honeygrow staff are some of the friendliest people you can come by. Second, they know how to party. As soon as we walked in staff greeted us with smiles and offered us some adult beverages. After I rummaged through their impressive local beer selection I jumped in line to get my order in.
Just a few moments after I entered my order into the super slick touch screen monitors my number was called. Looking down at the bowl I could already tell it was about to go down, literally. honeygrow prides themselves on using fresh, local ingredients that are the highest quality. One bite of their food and you quickly find out they are the real deal.
Food, check. Adult beverages, check. Time for dessert! So honeygrow has a few options for desert, but what stood out was their honeybar. You pick 3 fruits, 1 honey (or maple syrup), and 2 toppings of your choice. You can even add their house-made whipped cream for a small extra charge.
If I actually wrote reviews on Yelp, instead of just lurking on the app, honeygrow would easily get 5 stars ★★★★★. Thank you honeygrow for hosting this great event. Also, make sure to check out the honeygrow IG account and if you find yourself at one of their locations snap a pic and use the tags #honeygrow & #hgLocal
