A few days before July 4th I get a call from Sebastian asking if I wanted to take a road trip up to New York City. Sebastian had lost his Infiniti G37s in an accident a few weeks prior and found a new car a few miles out of the city that he wanted to look at. NYC and car shopping? "Yeah I'm in."
After the 5 hour drive and 4 hours of negotiations we left the dealership with a new car and headed to our Airbnb spot. We checked in around 6pm which meant that we didn't have much daylight to work with. As soon as we dropped off our bags we made our way up to the roof to see where we actually were and of course to take some pictures.
We decided that our first stop in the city would be the Top of the Rock Observation Deck before nightfall. Our apartment wasn't too far away so we decided to walk. As you can probably guess you don't cover ground very quickly walking around NYC with two photographers. We stopped just about every block to capture what was going on around us, but then again who wouldn't...
Once we arrived at the observation deck we took a long elevator ride straight to the top. It was packed. Actually packed is an understatement, it was body to body on the rooftop. We had to wait in line at each vantage point just to get up against the glass and capture the view. Still worth it.
For sure a breathtaking experience. After going shoulder to shoulder with what felt like every tourist in the city we both looked at each other and knew what we had to do next. Beer. For the next couple of hours we did the "what beer can we get in this bar" mini tour. Now let me just say this, we may or may not have filled up a camelbak full of beer and walked around the city. Again I stress the may or may not part. So after a few cold ones we decided to do a little explore session which consisted of Times Square, World Trade Center, and some random streets I don't remember being on. Hope you enjoy the rest of the pictures and come back soon to check-in on our most recent adventures.
